Kiboga- A family of four, which was travelling to its ancestral home for Easter holidays, perished in an accident on the Kampala-Hoima road on Good Friday.
The family was traveling from Kampala to Hoima in a saloon car when they were involved in a head-on collision with a Toyota Land Cruiser at Kituntumuzi village in Lwamata Sub-county, Kiboga District.

The Wamala regional police spokesperson, Mr Nobert Ochom, said preliminary investigations revealed that the driver of the Land Cruiser dozed off and lost control of the car, which veered off its lane and knocked the saloon car.
All the four occupants in the saloon car died instantly.
The accident paralysed traffic on the road for more than an hour as police retrieved bodies from the damaged car. All the five occupants of the Land cruiser were unhurt.
Police identified the deceased as Dr Edrone Rwakaikara,60, Catherine Rwakaikara,80, Denis Biingi, 35, and Emmy Amanda,26, who are residents of Kisugu in Kampala.
Dr Rwakaikara, who was driving, was found with Ugandan and South African driving permits. She is reported to have flown into Uganda to join her family for the Easter festivities.
Rwakaikara’s grandson, Mr Nicholas Mugisa, said their family is shocked and saddened by the loss of four family members at once.
He said the deceased would be laid to rest in Kitaagi cell, Kyentale ward in Hoima Municipality today.
According to Mr Mugisa, Rwakaikara, a medical doctor, has been working in South Africa, while her cousin Amanda is a fresh graduate from Cavendish University. His brother Biingi is a graduate of Social Sciences from Bugema University.
Police took the bodies to Kiboga Hospital for a postmortem.

Mr Kiwalabye, 43, a driver in the Office of the Prime Minister attached to Kyangwali refugee camp, who was reportedly driving the Land Cruiser, was arrested and is currently detained at Kiboga Police Station where charges of reckless driving have been preferred against him.
